Feng Shui Revealed – R D Chin
This is the one book on Feng Shui I recommend: Feng Shui Revealed. Author R D Chin is not only a modern Feng Shui Master, he is an American architect and interior designer who excels at interpreting ancient wisdom into improvements we can make in our Twenty-First Century homes. The text is well written and the book is illustrated with beautiful photos and drawings. Please Note: After more than 16 printings this book is now out of print. You can easily get a copy of the book through one of Amazon’s re-sellers. simply click on the button below.
Feng Shui for the Soul– Denise Linn
Feng Shui for the Soul author Denise Linn draws on her deep knowledge of Earth Wisdom to add a spiritual depth to Feng Shui. In her warm writing style she describes awakening the House to make a home for you and your soul. She discusses clearing a home, inviting Spirit in, dowsing, earth energies, and using your home to nourish your five senses. I learn something new every time I pick up this book.
Organizing from the Inside Out – Julie Morgenstern
Julie Morgenstern brings common sense and humor to the process of decluttering. She wrote one of the first books on decluttering and organizing, and it’s still the best. Morgenstern has developed a system to conquer the clutter in your life. I frequently refer to her SPACE system – Sort, Purge, Assign, Containerize, and Equalize – to clients and professional speaking audiences.
Organizing from the Inside Out for Teens – Julie Morgenstern and Jessi Morgenstern-Colon
If the teen in your life is drowning in clutter and confusion, this book by Julie Morgenstern’s daughter, Jessi, is a life-saver. It is written from one teenager to another. She tackles the issues of limited space (a single bedroom), the demands of school papers and projects for space and organization, room decorating to display your teen’s multiple interests, and how to manage time for after-school and social activities.
The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing – Marie Kondo
Marie Kondo’s radical message has taken the organizing world by storm. Her mantra: have in your home only those things that “spark joy” and bring true happiness. Her focus is on what you want to keep to create a joyous home, rather than what to get rid of. Japanese cultural concepts are part of her approach: folding clothes and organizing them so opening a drawer is a delightful experience of color and texture, and thanking objects that you are letting-go of for the service and pleasure they have given you. Her core message about living with only what “sparks joy” is life-changing.
A Pattern Language – Christopher Alexander
A Pattern Language is about the overlooked human element in design, sometimes called “architectural psychology.” It explains how simple fine-tuning of the arrangement or construction of a space has a big impact on how you feel in that space. How the placement of lighting in a room makes it a welcoming gathering space or an un-used room. How the grouping of chairs invites conversation. What are the elements of a master bedroom that support intimacy and a good night’s sleep? This book is designed to be a source of insight and inspiration. Pick the “patterns” that resonate with you and discover how they improve your home and home life.

Feng Shui Cures I Recommend:
I usually work with “western” Feng Shui Cures: lights, plants, and personal treasures that enhance your decor. But, sometimes a traditional Chinese cure is the simplest cure.
Feng Shui Crystals by Swarovski
Faceted crystals can be used as a straight-forward cure, or to correct Chi flow. These 30 mm crystals are made by Swarovski of the finest lead crystal with more facets cut into them than less well-made crystals. This gives you a greater impact on Chi.
